Part 2. Oral exam (May-June, 2012)
- Presentation based on an article from "Scientific American" or any other scientific journal (you will prepare it at home according to all the tips we've learnt)
- Listening: a short tape from Scientific American lasting for about 1.5 min that you will have to retell afterwards (the main idea + some details)
- Speaking: you will be given just 40 sec to describe a diagram/chart/graph whatever
- Test reading: 2-3 sentences with whimsical words for you to read with the correct pausing, stress, intonation and pronunciation
You will take these parts in the following order:
- test reading (be sure your reading is like a stream with reasonable pauses, stress and intonation! you will be given 1 min to get acquainted with the material)
- listening (2 imes)
- describing a diagram (you will prepare your speech within 1-2 min and then speak for 1 min)
- presentation (10 min maximum!!!)
Here's some stuff you need to know before the exam
The mark you can get at the exam will depend on your work during the semester!!! Mind it, please. So, if you want to get "10" for instance, at the end of the term, after the Final Test, you're supposed to score 76 points and then pass the exam with "20".
